After the Storm...Sunny, cloudy, spring day...38º

Thunder, lightning, rain, wind, add in brilliant colors of a rainbow and red skies...It was quite a show...I would have preferred a gentle rain overnight but will be happy with any kind of moisture except snow!

Word from Rusty this morning, he was headed to Lowes in Bend, then to Fishers Meats in Powell Butte before heading home after a week in Central Oregon with friends...Will be happy to have him back, but have enjoyed my week, doing road trips, accomplishing very little, (still recuperating) I did get the onions planted, laundry done and more rest.

Today I have a massage and grocery shopping and will fix a real dinner...I seem to survive quite well on scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast, sandwiches and fruit for dinner when I have no one helping me with the cooking! Love and Hugs to all...OWAV:)

A Warm Day...46º overnight.

Looking out the front door.

Looking forward to more sun and warmer temps for the next week...Now if we can leave the freezing nights behind, summer will be here.

I managed to plant half of the onions yesterday, will finish that today...On to doing some laundry, hanging sheets on the line outside to get sun-dried!..Connie is coming to clean, after a month, so she has her work cut out for her...I think I will just stay out of her way.

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day with family and friends...Hugs to All...OWAV:)

Spring days/weather...40º sun in the forecast.

I'm really out of the writing groove, it is always hard to start again, so i'll try to do some catching up.

Rusty works at keeping up with both places, spring cleanup, weed abatement, lawn mowing, replacing a water heater at his house and rebuilding a fence so we can have the llamas on Barton Heights, cleaning out the irrigation ditch so if we ever get the garden planted, we will have water...My goal was to have the potatoes planted by mid-May, that didn't happen, first of June is more likely...I got the crud and spent several days, in the house, coughing, sneezing, trying to breath, eating chicken soup and drinking copious amounts of  watered down juice!..I haven't been sick for so long that I didn't know how to do it!!!  Rusty would probably say that I managed it quite well!

I'm on the mend, Rusty is spending a few days in Central Oregon with friends and it has been cold, rainy, windy miserable weather here on Barton Heights...Sunny today, maybe I can at least deadhead some daffodils and go for a walk around the track, start building my steps up again.

Pam and I took advantage of the crappy weather, did a couple of roadtrips our into our beautiful forested county, looked for mushrooms, (notice I didn't say we found any) and reminisced about years of wood gathering, huckleberry picking and other adventures.

The election is over, Judge Wes Williams was soundly defeated by Jared Boyd, which surprised a lot of people but gives new hope to our county court system...That's enough blathering for today, Hugs To All...OWAV:)

How the time flies...44º, Sunshine/blue skies..

It has been almost a week since Bobi returned to her home in Portland and my writing has been non-existent...So I will try doing a recap of the last two weeks.

After our day trip to Tri Cities, first thing in the morning was a soak in the hot tub before breakfast, then days of planning, prepping and cooking meals...Bobi made "Schwarma Chicken," and found  a recipe for Naan flatbread for me to make, (since I love playing in the dough)...I did the kneading, she did the cooking in a very hot dutch over...It was so delicious that we used the extra Naan for individual pizza's the next day...When we weren't cooking, and eating, we spent time getting our steps in and Rusty worked away in the garden and at his house in Enterprise.

One day was devoted to "Ace," as he was in dire need of a haircut and bath...That brought up the fact that Bobi needed a haircut, I needed a haircut, Rusty needed a shave/haircut and we all needed a shower!..Probably more info than anybody wanted...In our spare time we played cards and visited about days gone by, and the things we did as a family...Boating, camping, hunting, holidays etc...It was rainy and cold, so very little time was spent outside.

That brought us to Sunday, Pam joined us for a lamb chop dinner and card playing afterward...Bobi and Ace headed back to Portland on Wed. and Rusty and I got back into our routine and with the warmer weather we have been killing weeds, mowing lawn and enjoying the sunshine...Hugs To All...OWAV:)

Great way to start a day.

So proud of haircut.

Family Week...40º Sunny

Thinking back, it is hard to remember what we did, and now the week seems like it was only a day!.. Bobi  and Ace arrived on Tuesday, Wednesday we settled into somewhat of a routine.

Thursday, Bobi and I saw a break in the crazy spring weather, left at daylight on a trip to Tri Cities Washington, where the closest mall is located...

Neither of us really like to shop anymore but out of necessity, (bra shopping) we took the opportunity to shop together...Roads were great, breakfast at Weston was served hot, tasty and  inexpensive!.. The mall experience was, as expected...Clerks are nearly nonexistent, most dressing rooms closed, bathrooms hidden in a far corner and the checkout station at the entrance of the mall, which in a way was good...We paid for our 10 bra's, (all on sale) 5 each and escaped that crazy world...Bobi did an expert job of driving, we only had to turn around/backtrack twice before we were on the road to Tollgate and dinner. (It was also good, but expensive.)..We laughed a lot, swore a few times and agreed that it had been a good day.

Rusty and Ace were happy to see us back home...For the next few days, Bobi, Ace and I walked, getting our steps for each day, Rusty worked on his house in Enterprise and we got together for dinners and cards...Cooking together, trying new recipes has always been part of our family time...to be continued, with photos...Hugs to All...OWAV:)

Family time...42º cloudy/sunny

This week has been spent working, playing, cooking and talking...Both of my kids are here and we make the most of out days together...That being said, blogs are few and far between.

Remember, voting day is right around the corner, please vote, so we can have a working judge for the next 6 years...Hugs To All....OWAV:)
