Cienna has posted on FaceBook and written her blog, the official news: Barring unforeseen circumstances, she will in August 2014, be winging her way to Thailand to spend her junior year as a Rotary Foreign Exchange Student...The scope of this is hard for me to fathom...She and her parents have taken a great leap of faith as she prepares for this journey and we her grandparents are along for the ride...Offering our support in any way possible...She started on this journey almost a year ago when she applied for an exchange, was chosen and they (her family) have spent the past year jumping through all the hoops to make it happen...Where to go?..(Europe, Asia, South America, Mexico, India and others) was of utmost importance when she started, but then she concentrated more on the "experience" no matter what part of the world she might land in...In the end she let the Rotary Committee place her...In another month or so she will find out where in Thailand, she will live...Start corresponding with her host family (she can have one or up to three before the year is over) through emails and learn all she can about the country before she boards the plane...We are all excited, scared, proud and full of questions as our minds sort through the mind boggling ramifications of the year ahead...She is young and has been encouraged to follow her dreams...To dream big and work hard to make them come true...Her parents have given her opportunities, love, encouragement and support in what ever she choses to do...In other words they are the "Wind Beneath Her Wings"...So Fly Cienna, Fly Away, only to return home a different person but still our sweet, smart, lovable, kind and compassionate "Girl."....Hugs To All...OWAV:)
