Typical August...61º

Wind blew, thunder boomed, lightening flashed, a few sprinkles of rain...That was overnight, wonder what today will bring...Sun just coming up, a brilliant pink glow in the East...With any luck, no fires were started and our valley is cleared of the smoky haze of the past month.

It was a quiet day at the museum yesterday, maybe 7 people browsed the exhibits, none wanted to visit...They were there for one last stop, before heading home after a few days at Wallowa Lake...We get many comments that the museum is well done and they enjoy a glimpse into the past at the hard work of our early pioneers.

Herb and I had our favorite summer casserole for dinner yesterday, one I made up called, "Mock eggplant Parmesan."...It is made with grated zucchini, mixed with egg, fried into patties, layered with cheese and roasted tomatoes, heated in the oven...It is yummy!..

Last nights music was "Brass Fire," a band from Pendleton OR...Trumpets and trombone along with saxophones, guitars, drums, violin, and keyboard...Strong voices along with the instruments made for a rousing evening...The temperature was wonderful, a bit windy, but the rain held off...Only two more concerts for this summer series...I so enjoy Thursday night music, all summer long...Hugs To All...OWAV:)

PS...Photos from last year, I have tomatoes ordered for this year.
