Making a List...18º---40º

After a week of cold days with bright sun, it looks like our weather is about to change... Forecast is cloudy, possible snow showers...December weather.

Yesterday Herb helped me gather the donation of books, food, sundries etc that were collected at our sorority Christmas party...We delivered them to a program called "The Elks Christmas Basket" ...They will sort out what they can use and give the rest to the Wallowa County food bank...The baskets, filled with foods that make a traditional Christmas dinner, are delivered to Wallowa County families in need, a week before Christmas...These families are also recipients of gifts from the tree of giving...The program is run by volunteers and has been in place for many years.

I'm making a list, but not a Christmas list...Just an endless list of things I need to do, to keep me on track.

Mint Cremes
1. Dip the fondant I have made and get it in the mail to Portland.
2. Make another batch of fondant and fudge for home and friends.
3. Think about the neighborhood "food" drive, compose the email.

     a. For many years our Barton Heights Neighborhood exchanged Christmas goodies    among all of the neighbors...About 3 years ago, I took it in a new direction and ask people to maybe donate to the county food bank, instead of goodies for the neighbors (their choice)... Gaily decorated boxes were placed on our front porch, neighbors stopped by with donations, some had time to visit, others came, donated and left, like ghosts in the night...The response has been overwhelming, the boxes overflowed, cash donations came in...Our neighborhood is very generous.

4. Start composing our Christmas letter...Sometimes it is a New Years letter.

End of list for today, now I must get busy...Hugs to all...  OWAV:)
