Rare Visit...48º

Morning photos on Facebook, a like, a text and a 10am date set up...Shelli and Cory grew up in the house next door, we haven't seen them since the early 90's...That didn't keep us from talking nonstop as we recounted memories of life on Barton Heights, that included playing in the meadow and in the river, freedom to roam and explore with little supervision...They were younger than our children but still played together and spent some days on Wallowa Lake, where we suntanned on the dock, swam (with life jackets) and tried water skiing.

Many things they remembered, I had forgotten...During their visit, we walked in the meadow where their horse had once pastured and they were very much in awe, as it is now more like a park, with its own "hobbit house," a serene, peaceful setting, along the river...Shelli took photos, of their family home and the surrounding area, with all of it changes...Now they will have photos of a day in June 2018, when they took a walk down memory lane.

Both of the girls agreed that they had indeed been lucky to grow up in the years they did in this very special place...Cory and her family moved back to Joseph 10 years ago, while Shelli lives in Washington and comes for regular visits...It was a lovely day...Hugs To All...OWAV:)

PS...the following photos are ones that Shelli took of the Hobbit House, Wallowa River and our Meadow.
