Back Up Day…08/24/11…5am…58°…Sunshine

Got so involved yesterday, writing about 57 years ago that I completely missed a day in our life on Barton Heights.

Oma
Cienna picking raspberries
I woke Cienna early on Tuesday morning, we skipped our walk and had a quick breakfast, arrived at "Crooks you-pick raspberries" just outside the Joseph City limits, at 8am…Treva soon had us outfitted with cartoon character buckets tied around our waist and directed us to the "G" row to pick our berries…They have quite a system for picking…Everything is labeled, and flagged so the berries are continuously harvest without being over picked…An hour later Cienna and I had a full flat of the most beautiful as well as delicious berries and our tummies were also quite full…Tom and Treva started u-pick berries with only six rows of thornless berries, some u-pick cucumbers, squash etc…Now they concentrate mostly on berries having added many more rows of raspberries, and strawberries as well.

Janie's Pie
Home again, we changed clothes, gathered up our writing, a zucchini casserole to share and were on our way to Prairie Creek to meet with the "Write People"…Only Pat, Janie, Cienna and I were present…Cienna read her story first, leaving Janie and Pat amazed that, she at thirteen is such a good writer…Cienna hopes to send stories via email over the next year so we can see how her story progresses…After reading we shared a pot luck lunch and each had a piece of Janie's apple pie.

Wednesday was a day spent catching up on sorority "stuff" and making dinner rolls to take to the sorority potluck...
Bobi arrived from Portland about 4pm.

Today we have a foundry tour planned and them time on the deck to visit…~OWAV:)
