Calm out of chaos...52º

Awake at 5am, restless night with dreams of always trying to elude someone or something, never figured out what was after me...DAMN, I hate nights like that.

We or mostly Herb made headway with the watering and getting things back into place...Dusty pounded and banged his way in the bathroom and Don continued with the painting outside...I unpacked, balanced the check book, Pat brought iced mocha's and we sat on the deck, visited and caught up on each others news.

Today I'm going to write group and still waiting to hear if Dr Grandi got an MRI scheduled on my knee this week...2nd day of our cruise is below...OWAV:)

July 23…Breakfast buffet at 8am, a hugh display of food from granola to stir fry to bacon and eggs or omelets, breads and drinks…I know this will change a little everyday but I think the buffets may get a little monotonous by the seventh day, which is good because then I won't think I have to eat one of everything :)

H and I have an inside cabin (no porthole) which we refer to as the cave or dungeon etc…Actually it is very nice, but we do like to look our so are always looking for a possible quiet place on an upper deck where we can sit and read or just look…Not much scenery yet as we are surrounded by the sea and have over 500 more miles to cruise before we get to Juneau on July 24.

After breakfast we ( M,J, H and D) stopped at the card room (mostly quiet) and played a game of "5 Crowns, more commonly known as Gramma's game"…They also have scrabble (no one will play with me) and yahtze, clue, monopoly, chess etc…The library is next door for reading and browsing…Then we explored the top deck number 13, cold wind and all, to see where the track, putting green, climbing wall and other amenities are located…Don't plan on using these just want to know where things are…We stumble upon a cooking demo put on by the ships many chefs and listen to that before going to Lunch…Then we are back at the table eating…Herb and I found the Casino and next to it, a wine bar which has comfortable seats and a view…We spend most of the afternoon there while M & J nap…We watch and listen to a demo on the history and making of martini's and drink a glass of wine…M & J join us at our ocean view and Jerry spots a "school" of porpoise jumping for as far as the eye can see…"Name that Tune" is in progress so we listen to music and relax before dinner and the evening music program…We are entertained by a quartet who sings songs made famous by Frankie Valli (The 4 Seasons) in the 60's…They put on an excellent show to a packed house (1000 seats) and will be back for a short performance on Saturday afternoon before we finish the cruise back to Seattle arriving Sunday morning 8am…Entertainment in the Stardust Theater is free…Early bedtime for H and I, M and J staying up a little later…Hugs to All…OWAV:)
