Christmas Musical...1º

Wallowa County native, musician, music teacher and lady extraordinaire, preformed at the Wallowa Lake Lodge for the first night of two annual "Christmas with Gail Swart Concerts"...We Pam, Nancy (also had a ticket) and I braved the near 0º cold with about 80 other people to attend this event...Already people were gathered in groups, songbooks and wine in hand...Singing of carols alternated with the bell choir as everyone was soon tapping toes, greeting friends and neighbors, Christmas spirit filled the room...I love this part of the program as people relax and sing with abandon, maybe on key or maybe not, it doesn't matter.

The caroling comes to a close as everyone moves into the dining room to find their designated seats for a dinner of chicken/ham, rice, broccoli, rolls and for dessert, platers of cookies made by Gail...After dinner, Gail and Leslie start the program with a piano duet, followed by Randy and his french horn, songs by Carolyn and Janice, Rodd and Mary, Liz on the violin, Roger on native flute, Pat on flute, Heidi and Bob on assorted instruments, wrapping up with the Brann Family and last Duff and Gail with more singing and piano...The musical talent in this isolated valley is truly amazing!..Thanks to Gail for continuing the tradition and thanks Pat and Brian for the gift of this special night.

Now on to my everyday things to accomplish...Sent my essays to Katey last night, have an ebook to finish listening to, calendars to make for our family, read a book for Book Group, Write People at my house for lunch on Tuesday and keep writing and editing for January...Oh yes and look forward to a Christmas play in Lostine, another musical at the Josephy Center, book tickets for the musical "Guys and Dolls" at the Elgin Opera House on Christmas day as we celebrate another year!...Hugs To All...OWAV:)
