Summer Ending...50º

The last 25# of tomatoes are roasted and in the freezer...I love having this job done but also hate to see it, because that means the end of fresh tomatoes is right around the corner...No more BLT's or BTO's (bacon/tomato/onion) for dinner, or open face tomato sandwiches for breakfast...I've saved back a few and will even refrigerate some of them (that's a no no!) to stretch the season just a bit more...Nothing can replace the homegrown tomatoes of September...As Herb finished his dinner yesterday, he said, "That was a meal fit for a King." A simple meal of ground beef/deer patties covered with melted cheese, an ear of corn on the cob, purple cole slaw, slices of tomato, onion, cucumber and finished off with a slice of zucchini bread for dessert...I had to agree...Hugs To All...OWAV:)
