A busy morning for me yesterday; write people, Dr. appt., grocery shopping...Five of us gathered for writing and reading, I left for my appt, returned in time for lunch...A quiet little nook with four tables and actual homemade soup...Yesterdays Italian Vegetable really hit the spot as we watched a snow storm blow through Enterprise.
My appt was encouraging as Dr Burgoyne explained that anytime I push the knee with exercise there will then be pain to work through...Icing immediately then later heat and ice and take advil regularly...He is still talking injection to get me over this healing process, I said, "How about if I come back in two weeks and we discuss it more at that time." "That's sounds reasonable and if you come in doing cartwheels you won't need an injection,"He said, blue eyes twinkling!..He knows and I know that he has me over a barrel...It has been 60 years since I did a cartwheel...Bottom line, he doesn't think I have damaged anything, it is just the healing process in a knee that also has arthritis.
After lunch Pat and I sorted through the schedule of events for a writers conference being held, called Word Roundup...Two days of readings by writers mostly from Oregon; workshops, a book fair and music all held at the newly renovated Indian Casino (convention center) in Pendleton Or...There is so much to choose from and it runs for two days starting at 10am on Friday and goes to 10pm Saturday...We will leave Joseph early Friday morning and stay until Sat. afternoon, then start home as Pat has other plans for Saturday night...I'm sure by that time our brains will be saturated, eyes glazed over and we will be ready to return to our quiet corner of the world.
