Blooms to Snow Storm...20º

We made our 8am appointment at Kendall Subaru in Lewiston yesterday morning with a few minutes to spare...Herb took it slow and easy over mostly bare roads...It was just breaking day and we both watched for animals and rocks in the road...As we made our decent down Buford Grade, a semi, lights flashing, almost stopped, taking up the better part of both lanes must have either been having trouble with his truck or was just plain scared by the steep, crooked grade...Little did he know that a worse road lay ahead of him as he had to go up Rattlesnake Grade and down Asotin Grade before he made it to the Lewiston/Clarkston valley...For someone who doesn't know this road and has merely looked at the wiggly line on a map has no idea what lies ahead.

As I had anticipated everywhere I looked trees and bushes were blooming as well as every kind of bulb imaginable and the weather warmed up nicely as our day wore on...We dropped our Outback and they handed us the keys to a 2014 Forester, our "loaner car"...Herb was happy as we zoomed out of the parking lot and off for a couple of hours of shopping...I mostly shopped while Herb checked out all of the bells and whistles on the Forester, plus he loved other features, sits higher, and is much easier to get in and out of...I liked that feature as well but our Outback only has 40,000 miles on it and must take us lots of miles before we trade it in.

We decided to have a big breakfast and probably skip lunch/dinner and stopped at one of our favorite places in Lewiston..."Waffles and More" usually has a waiting line but not on Monday morning, so we ordered the farm breakfast to split...Three eggs, two sausage patties, hash browns, toast and a waffle...Our car was done by 10am and we did the Costco shopping and headed home on bare roads sun shining...A few miles out of Enterprise as we looked toward the Wallowa Mountains I said, "Looks like it is storming on Barton Heights"...It was and it continued for the next 3 hours putting down about 5 inches of the lovely white stuff...A beautiful scene this morning but darn it is April and my daffodils are buried...Hugs To All...OWAV:)
