Headed for bed shortly as both Herb and I pulled 10 hour shifts at Mule Days today...Not as bad as it sounds, because we had several opportunities to sit and rest...But much of the day was on our feet, lifting and carrying, and the older we get the more it tells on us...It was a fun day meeting with old friends that we have worked with before...Ernestine and I set up the t-shirt booth, think it was the best that it has ever looked...It was fun talking to all the people that stop at our information, souvenir booth... and maybe tomorrow I'll have time to watch the mules perform...Herb is the chief garbage guy, plus errand runner, bathroom checker and whatever else they think of.

It was a beautiful September day, in fact it got so warm that they stopped the show at about 3pm because of the heat and the concern for the animals and humans out in the ring...That meant that more people were out shopping at the many booths set up just for that purpose... Herb and I split an order of biscuits and gravy for breakfast and each had a hamburger meal for our lunch...later Herb came by with ice cream on a stick, covered with nuts, that he shared with me...yum, good...Herb will go at 7am tomorrow and I about 10am (I have tomatoes to roast)...Driving home tonight at nearly 7pm, it was a balmy 81°, summer has finally arrived...Sweet dreams...~OWAV:)
