Christmas Countdown...26º--55º

For several reason a few years ago our "Family" decided to have our Christmas at Thanksgiving... It has been named, "Thanksmas"...Reasons being, roads are sometimes better in November, usually time off can be arranged...The "kids" can then have their own Christmas in December, at home, without the added stress of traveling...Oma and Papa don't have to drive to the big city...Of course it won't alway work, this year Rusty might be in Brazil in November or maybe not...Come to think about it I haven't asked if Stan can get time off this year...We never know just how it will work...BUT I decided many years ago that even though I love having the "kids" home for Holidays, I wasn't going to freak out about it...Anytime they are home is a Holiday for us and we make the most of it whether it be July, January, November or March...Sometimes all of us are together, but not always...So as we head into November, I'm thinking about small gifts to wrap and exchange and a dinner menu...We have ordered a whole beef for all of us to share in the ensuing year, our gift to each other...Knowing that we will be well fed and healthy, for the time being, is in my opinion the best gift of all...Holidays are about families, but families make any day a Holiday....
